As a senior leader, you will play a critical role in driving Apple's post-training strategy across various LLMs and product areas. This includes leading efforts in instruction tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), preference optimization, and model alignment to ensure our models are helpful, safe, and performant in real-world applications. In this role, you'll drive roadmaps, propose your own research agenda to advance post-training methodologies, and directly shape the behavior and quality of Apple's generative models. You'll provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team, drive execution, and collaborate broadly across Apple.
Description We believe the most interesting and impactful problems in AI arise at the intersection of research and real-world deployment — and post-training is where that intersection is sharpest. You will work with a close-knit and fast-growing team of world-class engineers and scientists to tackle some of the most challenging problems in aligning and improving foundation models, including instruction following, reward modeling, human preference learning, and evaluation of model behavior across diverse product use cases. You will have opportunities to identify and develop novel post-training techniques that directly improve Apple products meaningfully improving the experience of millions of users.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $305,000 and $487,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
