Tech Lead Manager

About The Role ThoughtSpot is revolutionising analytics with AI-driven insights, and we are seeking an experienced engineering leader to define, champion, and execute the technical vision for our Embedded Analytics platform. This leader will build and guide high-performing engineering teams, drive architectural decisions, and partner closely with product and design to deliver scalable, embeddable analytics solutions and an exceptional developer experience. The role combines strategic leadership with technical depth, requiring a hands-on mindset and a strong bias toward execution.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building embedded analytics capabilities.
• Remain hands-on (~60%) by contributing to design, implementation, and code reviews.
• Drive architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and platform layers.
• Build and evolve developer-facing frontend SDKs, API SDKs, and integration tools that enable developers to build seamless embedded analytics experiences.
• Design scalable systems that expose analytics via multiple channels (UI, APIs, SDKs, middleware).
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, other engineering teams and involved stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Mentor engineers on system design, coding practices, and technical growth.
• Establish and uphold engineering best practices around quality, testing, performance, and reliability.
• Balance execution, technical depth, and team health while delivering business impact.
• Act as a thought leader within the company, influencing strategic initiatives beyond direct responsibilities by adapting communication approaches to resonate with various stakeholders and driving discussions toward efficient, high-impact outcomes.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with proven architectural leadership in enterprise SaaS, cloud-based products.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, React, Angular, and experience in building frontend and API SDKs for a world-class developer experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in cloud platforms and AI/LLM integrations
• Experience in startup environments, demonstrating the ability to drive innovation and execute quickly.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers, guide technical direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Track record of open-source contributions and engagement with the developer community.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Hybrid Work at ThoughtSpot This office-assigned role is available as a hybrid position, reporting to the office in India - Hyderabad.

Spotters assigned to an office are encouraged to experience the energy of their local office with an in-office expectation of 2-3 days per week. This approach balances the benefits of in-person collaboration and peer learning with the flexibility needed by individuals and teams.
