The LSC team at Navi serves as a strategic partner to the business, ensuring the company's operations align with legal and regulatory frameworks. The team provides comprehensive legal counsel across various domains, including corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The team oversees corporate governance, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations and facilitating effective board and shareholder engagements. The team proactively manages compliance across multiple regulated sectors, adapting to evolving regulatory landscapes.

About the Rol

You will be a key legal advisor for Navi’s borrowings, debt fundraising, co-lending, and treasury-related transactions. You will partner closely with business, strategy, and finance teams to structure and negotiate complex debt and co-lending deals, while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks. This is a hands-on role demanding strong legal acumen, independent ownership, and comfort navigating fast-paced financial environments.

What We Expect From Y

Lead end-to-end legal advisory for debt financing transactions , including term loans, debentures, securitisation and public debt issuances , covering structuring, negotiation and execution.
Provide legal support for investment and borrowing transactions , ensuring robust risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
Structure, negotiate and implement co-lending arrangements with partner financial institutions.
Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements.
Advise the business on compliance with RBI, NBFC and digital lending regulatory frameworks.
Oversee legal aspects of strategic investments , managing transactions from inception through closure .
Coordinate with consultants, advisors and external counsel to deliver complex legal projects efficiently.
Monitor and analyse regulatory developments impacting treasury and financing operations.
Present key legal issues, risks and recommendations to senior management and the Board.

Must Have

Law degree from a recognised, highly-ranked university
3 to 5 years PQE
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to make considered decisions in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
Experience with a banking and finance practice at a corporate law firm or fintech company is highly desirable
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment , and manage all internal and external stakeholders effectively
