Data Analyst

Business Analyst – Key Responsibilities & Required Skills:

1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges, and objectives.
• Document, analyze, and refine functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Convert business requirements into clear technical specifications for data, reporting, and engineering teams.

2. Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary bridge between business users, data engineers, and BI developers.
• Conduct workshops, requirement sessions, and alignment meetings.
• Maintain transparent communication, provide progress updates, and manage expectations.

3. Data Analysis & Validation

• Perform exploratory data analysis to support insights and decision‑making.
• Review and validate outputs from SQL queries, dashboards, and Power BI reports.
• Ensure data quality by checking accuracy, completeness, and relevance.

4. Documentation & Process Mapping

• Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and use‑case documentation.
• Maintain detailed documentation for BAU processes, workflows, and migration activities.

5. BAU (Business‑as‑Usual) Support

• Respond to ad‑hoc data and reporting requests.
• Support issue resolution, system enhancements, and change requests.
• Ensure smooth business operations during upgrades, transitions, or platform changes.

6. New Tool / System Migration Support

• Conduct impact assessments and readiness evaluations for migration initiatives.
• Work with technical teams to map legacy processes to new system components.
• Participate in and support UAT, including test case execution and validation of reports/pipelines.
• Document outcomes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Power BI – Dashboard validation, report analysis
• SQL – Writing, reviewing, and validating queries
• Alteryx – Workflow understanding and data transformation exposure
