Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a high energy Accounting Specialist to join our Shared Services Accounting team at ThoughtSpot. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how various aspects of Accounting comes together to produce ThoughtSpot quarterly financials. You will own the end- to-end Accounts Payable expense management process and play a critical role in our month-end close cycle playing a key role in financial accuracy, policy compliance, and process improvement.

What You’ll Do:

• Accounts Payable Expense Reimbursements: Manage the full lifecycle of emploee expense reimbursements within Coupa, ensuring all reports align with company policies and global compliance standards.
• Understanding the accounting-related policies and implications of the same in day-to-day tasks and activities
• Preparation of reconciliations related to Accounts Payable and resolve discrepacies in a timely manner.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employees and stakeholders regarding expense inquiries and policy implications.
• As appropriate, other general ledger accounting activities and special projects may apply.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the processes as we scale towards AI-driven environment and automations
• The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on "operational excellence" moving beyond simple data entry to ensure our financial output is repeatable, consistent, and accurate.

What You Bring:

• B.Com/M.Com/MBA/pursuing CA/CWA with 2-4 years’ hands on experience in managing accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (Vendors/Expense Reimbursements) or General ledger accounting, Audit management, SOP implmentation.
• Proven expertise in AP, month-end close activities and account reconciliations or other accounting process ideally with a US/Global technology or software/SaaS Company is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
• Zeal towards multi-tasking whilst always striving for operational excellence, process improvement. Looking at simplifications of activities to have the output to be repeatable, consistent, and accurate.
• Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures, US GAAP knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite, Coupa and/or other/similar Enterprise SaaS systems - PC literate with intermediate/advance level excel.

Hybrid Work at ThoughtSpot

This office-assigned role is available as a hybrid position, reporting to the office in India - Bangalore.

Spotters assigned to an office are encouraged to experience the energy of their local office with an in-office expectation of 2-3 days per week. This approach balances the benefits of in-person collaboration and peer learning with the flexibility needed by individuals and teams.
